Throughout the solar system unit, students research the eight planets to determine distinguishing characteristics for each planet. Students also create an alien that inhabits one of the planets, as well as a passport as these aliens will be visiting Earth for a few days. The unit also involves the concept gravity and how it is affected by mass.
